Why funnels

Stop flying blind

You're driving traffic to your site, but how many visitors actually complete the journey — from landing page to signup, onboarding to activation, or browse to purchase? Without funnel analysis, you're flying blind, optimizing pages that might not be the real bottleneck.

Funnels give you a step-by-step breakdown of your conversion flow with precise drop-off percentages at every stage. No sampling, no estimation: every event is counted. Mix page paths and custom events freely to model any conversion flow, from a simple two-step signup to a complex multi-stage onboarding.

Combined with session replay and user journey mapping, funnels do more than flag the problem. Spot the drop-off in your funnel, then watch the sessions where users left to understand why. It's the difference between knowing you have a problem and knowing how to fix it.

Capabilities

What you can do

Everything you need to model, measure, and improve your conversion flows.

  • Multi-step funnelsDefine funnels with any number of steps using page paths or custom events. See exactly where users drop off at each stage.
  • Conversion rates at every stepGet precise conversion and drop-off percentages between each step. No sampling: every single event is counted.
  • Segment by any propertyBreak down funnel performance by country, device, referrer, or custom event properties to find which segments convert best.
  • Path or event-based stepsBuild funnels using page URLs, custom events, or a mix of both. Flexible enough for any conversion flow.
  • Search & manage funnelsCreate, edit, and organize your funnels. Search by name to quickly find the one you need across dozens of funnels.

Getting started

How it works

From raw events to actionable drop-off data in four steps.

  1. 01

    Track your events

Pageviews are tracked automatically. For custom events like signups or purchases, add a single line of code.

  2. 02

    Create a funnel

Select the events or page paths that define your conversion flow. Name your funnel and arrange the steps in order.

  3. 03

    See where users drop off

Instantly view conversion rates and drop-off percentages at each step. Identify the biggest leaks in your funnel.

  4. 04

    Optimize and iterate

Make changes to your product or marketing, then check back to see if your conversion rates improve. Compare date ranges to measure impact.

Use cases

Who uses this

Funnels answer the one question every team shares: where are we losing people?

  • Product & growth teamsUnderstand which onboarding steps lose users, optimize activation flows, and measure the impact of product changes on conversion.
  • Marketing teamsTrack campaign-to-conversion funnels. See which traffic sources produce users who actually convert, rather than just the most clicks.
  • Founders & operatorsGet a clear picture of your core conversion metrics without hiring a data team.
  • E-commerce teamsTrack add-to-cart → checkout → purchase funnels. Identify exactly which step is costing you the most revenue.
  • SaaS companiesMeasure signup → onboarding → activation → retention funnels. Understand your product-led growth metrics clearly.
  • UX designersValidate design changes with hard data. See if your new checkout flow actually improves completion rates.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

No. Funnels are built on top of the events you're already tracking. If you're tracking pageviews (automatic) or custom events, you can create funnels from them immediately, with no additional instrumentation.

Yes. You can apply any filter (country, device, browser, referrer, UTM parameters, or custom event properties) to see how different segments perform through your funnel.

Funnel data is calculated from raw events with no sampling. A user counts as completing a step if they triggered that event or visited that page within the selected date range. Drop-off shows the percentage that didn't proceed to the next step.

Yes. Each funnel step can be either a page path or a custom event. You can mix and match freely: for example, landing page visit, then signup event, then onboarding page, then activation event.

There's no limit on the number of funnels you can create. Create as many as you need to track different conversion flows across your site or product.
